MARVIN DOUGLAS COX
Of Sundridge
Peacefully at North Bay Regional Health Centre on Tuesday February 28, 2023. Marv, beloved husband of Evelyn for 65 years, was in his 86th year.
Dear father of Marlin (Brenda) and the late David Cox (Valerie).
Proud grandfather of 5 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.
Brother of Fern Carmichael (late Bruce and late John), Meryl Cox (late Olive) and the late Greer Cox. Marv will be fondly remembered by all his nieces, nephews, other family and friends.
Marv was a lifelong member of the Sundridge Lion’s Club, he owned a trucking and excavation business and Cox’s General Store. He volunteered in his community with the telethon, Christmas Cheer; he enjoyed bowling, curling and one of his biggest interests was to see the Lion’s Building completed.
The family will receive visitors at the Opatovsky Funeral Home-Moore Chapel, 9 Paget Street in Sundridge on Friday May 26, 2023, from 1 to 3 and 6 to 8 pm. A Lion’s service will be conducted in the funeral home Friday evening at 6:30pm.
A service to celebrate Marv’s life will be conducted in the chapel commencing at 11:00 am on Saturday May 27, 2023, with Reverend Rick Callery officiating.
Interment of ashes will follow in the Strong Cemetery.
If desired, memorial donations to the Alzheimer’s Society or a charity of your choice would be sincerely appreciated by the family.
