Obituary of Marla Lynn Garvin
Marla Lynn Garvin, 68, of Saint John, New Brunswick, passed away on Saturday, August 19, 2023, at home.
She was born to the late Maurice and Doreen (nee Campbell) Garvin on February 1, 1955, in Saint John, New Brunswick. Marla graduated from Saint John Vocational High School in 1974.
Marla is survived by her two children: Gwen Massey and her loving granddaughters Allie Piercy and Amelia Kenney, of Fredericton, and Dana Massey and his partner Claire McGowan of London, UK; sister Denise Badger and two nieces Erika (Josh Bowslaugh) and Devon Badger of Mississauga, Ontario; brother Joe Garvin, of Saint John, New Brunswick and his children nephew Mark Hickey, niece Laura Peters (Mike Peters), niece Ruby; niece Sam Foley (Andrew McPhee) nieces Hayden and Hadley; and nephew Ryan Garvin.
Marla was an accomplished knitter, and showed her love with blankets, sweaters and dish cloths; treasures we shall cherish always. Marla was immensely proud of her family, and leaves behind nothing but her beautiful memories.
A Private Ceremony will be held on Friday, August 25, 2023, at 1p.m. at Brenan’s Funeral Home (506-634-7424), 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, followed by a reception. Interment will take place immediately thereafter, with the presence of immediate family, in Cedar Hill Extension Cemetery.
