Marion Sibley (nee Sanders)
May 4, 1943 – September 3, 2023
Peacefully, at home, with her family surrounding her, Marion finally saw her Saviour face to face. Survived by her husband Bob, son Sam (Sue), and daughter Rhonda (Mark). She leaves behind several grandchildren: Megan (Rafael), Cameron, Rachel (John), Ryan, Matthew, Jillian, Samantha, Allison, and Fiona. Predeceased by her mom Alice, dad Leo, and brother Ted Sanders, and her daughter Susan.
Marion led a life of service and dedication to her Lord and her family. After completing Bible College, she continued to work at the College as the Librarian until she and Bob married. As Bob’s ministry started, Marion came along side to do secretarial and supportive work, always filling in where there was a need.
Life took Marion from her hometown of Gananoque to Peterborough, Manitoba, Northern Ontario, Southeastern Ontario, and back to the Peterborough area. She was an unassuming force in the family in her own quiet way, never one to expect attention, but without fail attended to her family’s physical, emotional, and spiritual needs.
Though she struggled with her hearing, her face lit up with joy as she intently watched her grandkids interact around her. It was her close relationship with Jesus that brought her the most peace and satisfaction as she lovingly followed Him every moment of her life. Marion could often be found kneeling beside her bed in prayer, or in her chair reading her Bible. Special thanks to the home care team, Dr. Hughes, Emmanuel, and Donna for their careful and quick attention to Mom’s needs.
Family and friends are invited to Rushnell Funeral Home, 9 Bursthall St, Marmora (613-472-2531) on Friday, September 8, 2023 from 10am until time of Funeral Service 11am. Marion’s family will officiate her service with the assistance of Pastors Brian Rennick and Tom Kernohan. The interment at Emily Cemetery, 4249 Hwy 7, Omemee is anticipated to start at 2:30pm.
