Marie Smith
1939-2023
It is with great sadness the family of Marie Smith, 83 of
Plumweseep, New Brunswick, announces her passing on June 16th, 2023 at
the Sus Health Center.
Marie was born in Halifax, Nova Scotia on July 24, 1939; a
daughter of the late Charles and Queenie (Coolen) Hubley. Survived by
her beloved husband of 58 years, Victor Smith; her sons: Wade
Stubbington (Warna) of Nine Mile River, Michael Smith (Karen) of
Chapala, Mexico and Peter Smith (Molly) of Amherst; her sister, Betty
Hamilton; her brothers: Barry Hubley, Brian Hubley and Timothy Hubley;
her grandchildren: Cassandra Stubbington, and Dalton (Anna Lyn) and
Cassandra Smith and many extended family members. Besides her parents,
Marie was predeceased by her brother, Charles (Bud) Hubley.
Marie lived a long and vibrant life and always
enjoyed life to the fullest. She always had a smile on her face and
brought joy and laughter to everyone she met. Marie was fortunate to
enjoy many years of traveling through North America in their RV. She
loved nature and all outdoor activities, but her true passion was
fishing. She loved fresh-water fishing in her secret fishing holes as
well as salt-water fishing. If she couldn’t have a fishing
rod in her hand, she had a Bingo dauber or trying her luck on lottery
scratch cards.
Arrangements have been
entrusted to the care of Salisbury Funeral Home, 506-372-4800. A
celebration of life will be held for Marie at a later date. If
desired, donations may be made to a charity of the donor’s
choice and would be appreciated by the family.
