In Celebration of
Marie Ann Shannon
April 30, 1938 –
January 23, 2023
Following a battle with cancer, Margaret “Marie” Ann Shannon (nee English) of Etobicoke passed away on January 23, 2023 at the age of 84 years young. She was predeceased by her loving husband of 63 years, John “Jack” Shannon who passed away in 2003.
Marie will be lovingly remembered by her family, daughter Therese “Tracy” and son Michael, her brothers William “Bill” English (Leona), James “Jim” English (Vicki) and Louis “Lou” English and her sister Irene Caddel (Ivor, predeceased) and by her many nieces and nephews.
After 30 plus years as a nurse at St. Michael’s Hospital followed by several years at Queen’s Park, it was time to retire and travel. Marie cruised the seven seas. There were not many places in the world that she had not been. An accomplished seamstress, she also enjoyed, golf, lawn bowling, baking and gardening Marie was also an active member of our Lady of Sorrows Church.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be welcome.

We offer our deepest sympathies to the family and friends of Marie Ann Shannon April 30 1938
January 23 2023 and hope that their memory may be a source of comfort during this difficult time. Your thoughts and kind words are greatly appreciated.

My deepest condolences to the family and friends of Marie. She will be missed. She was a lovely lady on the inside and out. She was a smart, talented, funny, kind and generous woman. Here garden was beautiful and boy could she cook.
I had the pleasure of meeting Marie a number of years ago on a trip to South Africa. Four of us had fun together and went on a number of other trips together as well.
Rest In Peace Marie
Sincerely,
