It is with deep sadness that we announce the death of our mother, Maria Salfi (nee Berardi) on Monday, September 18, 2023, at the age of 91. Maria is predeceased by her husband Antonio, sister Agata Gualtieri, and parents Rosanna Deni and Domenico Berardi.
Loving mother of Anna Benforte (Vito) and Peter (Lori). Dear Grandmother to Josie Grossi (Anthony), Joe Benforte (Kathy), Anthony Salfi (Carly) and Patrick Salfi. Great Grandmother to Vitallia, Olivia and Sawyer. Sister of Lena Domanico (late Antonio), Antonio Berardi (late Josephine) and Sisina Serravalli (late Silvio).
Maria immigrated to Niagara Falls, Canada in 1953 from Mangone, Italy to be with her husband. Maria was employed at the Park Motor Hotel for over 25 years.
The family will receive friends at Morse & Son Funeral Home, 5917 Main Street, Niagara Falls on Thursday, September 21st from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be held at Our Lady of the Scapular Church, 6557 Thorold Stone Rd, Niagara Falls, on Friday September 22nd at 11am, with entombment at Pleasantview Memorial Gardens Mausoleum to follow.
The family asks that those who knew Maria celebrate her life in their own meaningful way. As an expression of sympathy, those who wish may make a memorial donation to the The Alzheimer Society of Niagara Region or Meadows of Dorchester Long Term Care.
