Mrs. Margaret Smith, formerly of Delhi , passed away peacefully at Caressant Care Long Term Care, Courtland, on Saturday, April 1, 2023 in her 99th year. Proud Member of St. Alban’s Anglican Church, Delhi. Beloved wife of the Late Donald “Duck” Smith (2010). Loving mother of Karen Downey (Archer) and Pauline Alexander (Kerry) and mother in law of Joan Wadleigh. Cherished grandmother of Annette Tilly (Marlon), Brendan Smith (Dana), Michele Wapshaw, Edward Downey (Olga), Kevin Downey (Pam), and Jeffery Downey (Heather) and great grandmother of Musa, Yasmin, Alfie, Abby, Sidney, Taylor, Emma, Ryerson, James, Brier and Andrea. Will be dearly missed by special friend Jennifer and by her nephew, Ken Smith. Predeceased by her son, Brian Smith (2012), by her son in law, David Wapsaw (2012), by her granddaughter, Melinda Wapshaw (1992), by her brother, William Hall Jr. (1944), and by her brother in law, Gordon Smith (2000) (Late Bella, 1996). Friends may call at the MURPHY FUNERAL HOME, Delhi (519) 582-1290 (www.mfh.care) for visitation on Monday, April 10, 2023 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held at St. Alban’s Anglican Church, Delhi on Tuesday, April 11, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Larry Brown officiating. Interment in Delhi Cemetery . Donations to the St. Alban’s Church Memorial Fund or the Charity of your Choice will be gratefully appreciated by the family.
