Our beloved Marnie passed away peacefully with family by her side on Saturday March 25th at Margaret’s Place Hospice in Dundas.
Her soaring spirit will be missed by her cherished husband Dave and son Jeffrey (Tina Lee), proud parents Bill Stoneham and Jane (Bill) Byrick, loving sister Barbara (Rob) Stoneham and in-laws Rob (Oksana) Hill, Sharon (Glen) Field, Marsha (Ken) Whiting and Don (JoJo) Hill.
She will be lovingly remembered by her extended family, neighbours and friends who have celebrated Marnie always, but more recently with their creative distractions, shared time, generous ¬meal preparation, flowers, notes, and wonderful laughter.
You may have seen Marnie’s smiling face on the screen. She loved acting and being on set with her ACTRA friends. Marnie’s joy of life touched all who knew her, living life to the fullest and giving back. Marnie initiated the Giggles & Grub fundraiser in conjunction with the Rotary Club of Burlington, which awarded her a Paul Harris Award. Giggles and Grub raised in excess of one million dollars for local charities.
Friends from Burlington Central High School (class of 1982) have established “The Marnie Hill Friendship and Spirit Award”. This award through The Halton Learning Foundation, is for a student whose enthusiastic spirit uplifts others, impacting their friends and school community.
We wish to express our gratitude for the exceptional care and sensitivity shown to Marnie and our family at Joseph Brant Hospital and Margaret’s Place.
If so desired, donations can be made in Marnie’s memory to Margaret’s Place Hospice sjvfoundation.ca/donate/ or Halton Learning Foundation
