MICHAEL , Magdalene – age 75, of Indian Brook passed away unexpectedly on December 30th, 2022. Born in Eskasoni, she was the daughter of the late Noel and Rita (Paul) Michael.
Affectionately known as “Miss Michael”, Magdalene taught at the kindergarten for over 30 years in her community. She witnessed many of her students grow into adulthood and have children of their own. Magdalene would always address her students as the “Children of the Dawn” – a term that means a lot to those who have heard her say it. Miss Michael has sculpted many lives; more than she will ever know. WE LOVE YOU AND WILL MISS YOU MISS MICHAEL.
Magdalene is survived by her sons, Curtis (Rose), Carmen (Nadia), Gavin (Terena); she will be also sadly missed by several grandchildren; godchildren, Stuart, Kim Anne, Leeanne, Christian, Patrick, Chantelle; sisters, Catherine “Gudd”, Sarah, baby sister Nina; brother, Joe Mike and Larry; many nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents she was predeceased by her brothers, Ronald Curtis, Norman Morris, Stephen Mike, Wilfred “Chiefy”, Baby Noel; sisters, Laura, Lavina, and Patsy.
Visitation will begin at 5pm on Sunday January 1st, at 99 Dowie Road, Indian Brook until time of service at 11am on Wednesday, January 4th, at St. Kateri’s Roman Catholic Church, Indian Brook. Father Phil Thibodeau officiating.
Burial will take place at 12pm on Saturday, January 7th, 2023 in Holy Family Roman Catholic Cemetery, Eskasoni.
