We sadly announce that Lydia Johanna Vooys-MacLeod passed away peacefully on August 25th, 2023, surrounded by loved ones at the young age of 59.
Beloved wife of Robert MacLeod. Proud Mother of Olivia Byam and fiancé Taylor Koenen. Daughter of Johanna Vooys and the late Dick Vooys. Dear sister of the late John Vooys and sister in law Patricia Woodley-Vooys. Dear sister of the late Tineke Demmers and brother in law Martin Demmers. She will be missed by her extended family, friends and her furbaby KC. A special thanks to the caring and compassionate nurses on 4F at Lakeridge Health Oshawa. Forever in my heart darlin’.
Lydia was a beloved fitness instructor and personal trainer. Running was her true passion, she started running in her 30’s and completed over 50 half marathons in her lifetime. She was also a big supporter of Terry Fox and lead the warm up for the Terry Fox Run in Bowmanville for over 20 years. Lydia always considered herself a Northern Girl at heart. Lydia loved the Lord from a young age and lived out her faith in a quiet way.
