Passed away peacefully with her family by her side at Wakefield Memorial Hospital on Sunday, July 9th. Lorraine, in her 76th year, beloved wife and best friend of the late Karol Wernikowski for 45 years. Loving Mother of Lorraine Jr. (Michel Boudreau), Johanne, Jean (Patrick Sirois) and Shelley (Jeffrey Johnston). Special Memère to Samuel, Benjamin, Olivia, Trinady, Ronin, and Leopold. Dear daughter of the late René Houle and Rita Villeneuve. Dear sister of Annette (Armand), Philippe (Monica), May, Raymond (Barbara), Suzanne (Harold), Jacques (Michele), Louise (Henry), and the late René Jr. (Lina), Lina (Maurice), Arthur (Francine), Aline (Joe), and sister-in-law to Mike (Ruth), and Patricia (John). Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. She enjoyed family, friends, and remained active with social groups such as les Cercles de Fermières and l’Age dore. She retired from the Canadian Bank Note Company. She was known for her knitting, boogying down and could always count on her at all family functions. She was a great Mom, Memère and listener. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, July 22, 2023 at McGarry Memorial Chapel from 11am – 3pm. A special thank you to the Wakefield Memorial Hospital caregiving staff for the wonderful care given to our Mother. Donations to Canadian Cancer Society gratefully accepted.
