Obituary
NICKERSON, Lois Genevieve – 70, of Barrington, NS, passed away on Thursday, April 13, 2023, at Yarmouth Regional Hospital with family by her side. Lois was a daughter of the late Alvin and Mary (Kenney) Nickerson. Lois is survived by her husband of fifty-one years, David; daughters Yvette, Wonica (Curtis), and Amanda; her nine wonderful grandchildren, Colby, Taylor, Erica, Dylan, Mercedes, Hunter, Felicity, Suree, and Kessel; two precious great-grandchildren, Bishop and Declan; her many special nieces and nephews, and close friends. She was predeceased by her parents Alvin and Mary; brother, Barry; sister, Cathy; and nephew, Wendell. Lois was always a caregiver; she knew no other way. She continued to be concerned for the well-being of others, even in her final days. Lois could most often be found volunteering her time to the community. She was a member of the Seabreeze Rebekah Lodge #24 of Clark’s Harbour for forty-eight years, a member of the Island & Barrington Passage Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary for a total of forty-five years and attended the United Baptist Stone Church faithfully. She was also a proud and devoted wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, great-grandmother, and aunt, who loved spending time with those closest to her, sharing a good laugh. Lois was a very strong woman and will be remembered for her strength. She was extremely appreciative of anything that people in her life did for her. The family would like to extend a sincere thank you to VON/homecare providers, and the doctors and nurses of both Roseway Hospital and Yarmouth Regional Hospital for their care and support. Arrangements are under the care and direction of H.M. Huskilson’s Funeral Home & Crematorium, Barrington. Memorial donations may be made to the Rosalin Nickerson Care Fund.
