Obituary
Elizabeth Anne Doyle, 42, died from triple negative breast cancer, Wednesday, September 13, 2023.
Born in Chatham, she was the daughter of Linda (née McEachreon) and Merlin Doyle.
Her father, Merlin, who preceded her in death, greatly influenced the remarkable person Liz became. She strived to live up to his legend by being the lively, loving, and funny community leader, coach, and friend that we all loved.
Liz moved to Moncton for work, where she met Alyssa while coaching basketball in 2011 and quickly became friends. They married in 2018 and Liz became the project manager of their life. Like the traditional couple they were, Avery was born a year later.
Liz could not wait to become a mother. While she didn’t get to be one for nearly long enough, the highlight of her life was being Avery’s Mama.
Besides Alyssa and Avery, Liz is missed by her nephew Dylan. Liz is also survived by her mother, Linda; brother, Damian (Lisa); sister, Christina; sister-in-law, Samantha (Skylar); and her father and mother-in-law, Stephen and Jeanine; as well as her many other family members and friends.
Liz was often the preferred playmate of the kids in her orbit, as she was always game to play pretend, read a story, or braid hair. Her nephew, Jake; nieces Gabby and Sloane; and special friends Max and Ellie will miss Aunt Liz.
Thank you to “The Golden Girls” Terri-Lynn (Serge), Karen (Gaetan), and Michelle for being Liz’s chosen family. Your friendship, love, and support throughout Liz’s illness and now is invaluable.
Liz wanted to make sure the staff at the Dr. Sheldon Rubin Oncology Clinic were thanked for the exceptional care she received throughout her illness. Special thanks to Dr. Salem, Dr. Cormier-Meyer, Tracey Firlotte, and Glenn Myers for fielding the many, many questions and requests that were asked of them and for trying everything they could to prolong Liz’s time with us.
Liz was proud to work for Horizon Health Network during her career and asked that donations be made to Friends of The Moncton Hospital.
In true Liz fashion, she did not want a funeral or visitation, or as she referred to it as “another opportunity to be sad”. A celebration of Liz’s life will be announced later. For now, in honour of Liz’s memory, have a pint, come up with a funny story for Avery, and make sure everyone in your life gets a mammogram.
Arrangements are in the professional care of Fergusons Funeral Home, 1657 Mountain Rd, Moncton (506)858-1995. Condolences can be shared with the family on Fergusons Funeral Home Facebook Page or at www.fergusonsfuneralhome.com
