Lillian Wright (nee Livingstone) peacefully departed to be with her Lord on May 28, 2023, at the age of ninety-two. Born on September 6, 1930, in Collingwood, Ontario, she was the cherished daughter of Gladys and Arthur Livingstone. Lillian, one of ten children, received her Elementary and High School education in Collingwood.
Lillian is survived by her devoted husband of seventy-one years, Donald James Wright. Together, they raised a beautiful family of five children, with one angelic child who passed away in infancy, Donald Jr. They created a nurturing home in Toronto, Calgary, and Collingwood, providing a foundation of love and support for their children.
Beloved mother of Janice (Daniel), Barry (Irene), Donna (Dallas), and Peter (Jackie), Lillian was a proud and adored Grandma to Kristin, Rachel (Val), Daniel-Adam, Joshua; Sarah (Nathan), Peter; Jason (Megan), Lee-Anne (Warren), Kara (Steven), Katelyn (Nathan); Michael, Noah, and Nicole. She also held a special place in her heart as a Great-Grandma to Alina, Georgia; Elizabeth, Olivia; Margot, Ethan; Isla, Hudson, and Sawyer.
Lillian’s life was a masterpiece of artistry, woven into the fabric of everyday existence. She cultivated a beautiful home, nurtured her family, and held a deep Faith. As a remarkable homemaker, she skillfully infused her surroundings with elegance and warmth. Lillian’s passion for learning was insatiable, reflected in her pursuit of numerous University courses. A gifted Bible teacher, she shared her wisdom and spiritual guidance with others throughout her life.
Her unwavering support as a wife, her caring nature as a mother and grandmother, and her radiant smile and sparkling eyes made Lillian a beacon of love. Her home was a sanctuary filled with life, delectable cooking, gracious hospitality, and contagious laughter. Lillian’s Faith and her profound relationship with Jesus Christ shone brilliantly, inspiring all those around her.
Lillian leaves behind her younger sister, Isabel Ashfield (Cliff) of Collingwood, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and eight siblings.
The family extends a heartfelt appreciation to the compassionate staff and dear friends at the Newmarket Health Centre, who provided an invaluable and supportive community for Lillian during the past two years. Her beloved husband, family, and friends will forever cherish the beautiful memories Lillian leaves behind.
A service of remembrance will be held at First Presbyterian Church on Tuesday June 6, 2023, at 1 p.m. The service will be available by livestream. Wright Service. Interment at First Presbyterian Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations in Lillian’s memory may be made to World Vision or Canadian Bible Society.
