Obituary of Leslie George Mancell
On September 6, 2023, Leslie George Mancell passed away peacefully at the age of 81.
He will be fondly remembered by his family and many caring friends.
He was the son of the late Harold and Rachel (nee Henry) Mancell and the grandson of the late George and Marie Mancell, and William and Clara Henry.
He is survived by his many cousins.
Except for four years spent in Arizona for his health, he was a life-long resident on the family farm, first settled by his great grandparents, William and Ann Mancell in 1872. He was a lay preacher and a very active member of Fletcher United Church. Although farming was his life, his interests included genealogy and history. He enjoyed his time at the Merlin Friendship Club.
Friends to be received on Wednesday, September 13, 2023 at the Funeral Home, 141 Park Street, Blenheim from 9:00 am until the Funeral Service at 11:00 am with Rev. Mike Maroney and Rev. Colin Swan as officiants. Interment in the family plot in Stewart Cemetery, Merlin to follow.
In memory of Leslie, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a church of your choice, the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance Foundation or to the Chatham-Kent Hospice Foundation.
