It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Leslie Victoria (Vickie) Kwashka who passed away peacefully at home in Waterdown on Tuesday, August 8, 2023, at the age of 73. She is survived by her loving husband of 50 years, Peter John Kwashka. Cherished mother to Alexandra (Arjang) Yazdani of London, Laura (Michael) Reid of Toronto, and Ellen (Tim Boock) Kwashka of Guelph. Proud grandmother to Gabriel, Anna, August, Maxim and Lennox. She will be dearly missed by siblings Allan (Leah) Sarson, Rex (Patricia) Sarson and Catherine (Thomas) Smith, as well as nieces, nephews and all of her extended family. She is predeceased by her parents Anthony and Audrey Sarson (nee Simpson).
Vickie was known and loved by a large circle of friends including her beloved Bahá’í community. A nurse by trade, she extended her life of service to others in her retirement through her extensive community involvement and volunteering efforts. Her memory will live on in the stories and memories she has left with all those she touched during her lifetime. The family takes solace in receiving many heartfelt messages expressing how much Vickie meant to them and through the stories they have shared about how she made an impact on their life.
A Funeral Service at Bay Gardens Funeral Home, 1010 Botanical Drive, Burlington, will be held on Saturday August 12, 2023 beginning at 11:00 am. A private family burial will take place before the service. If desired, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Eagles Nest in Waterdown or the Stephen Lewis Foundation
