C’est avec le cœur lourd que nous annonçons le décès de Laurent Cyr, à l’âge de 56 ans, le 31 décembre 2022. Larry était un père, fils, frère et ami. Il était un homme gentil et honnête, une personne altruiste et généreuse, mettant toujours les besoins des autres avant les siens, connu pour son esprit vif mais positif. N’importe les défis qu’il devait relever, Laurent approchait toujours la vie d’une perspective optimiste, semant la joie et le bonheur partout où il passait. Il aimait pêcher et piéger des ménés avec son frère, Vic.
Laurent manquera grandement à toutes les gens qu’il connaissait, mais on se souviendra toujours de lui grâce aux innombrables vies qu’il a marquées.
Laurent était le fier père de Martin (Miranda Levines), Marc (Kayla
Sabourin) et Mélanie. Il laisse dans le deuil sa mère, Gisèle; ses sœurs et frères : Marie (Denis Leblanc), Victor (Suzanne Drouin),
Thérèse (David Scully), Liz, Michel et Diana; ses petits-enfants : Angel-
Rose, Camilo, Alem et Briella-Love; de même qu’un autre qui arrivera bientôt, Beau-Alain.
Laurent fut prédécédé par son père, Omer; ainsi que sa sœur, Lorraine; et son frère, Louis.
Le service funéraire aura lieu le mardi 20 juin 2023, à 10h30, en l’église Immaculée-Conception. La famille sera très reconnaissante de dons à la Banque alimentaire de Kapuskasing comme témoignages de sympathie.
Laurent laisse un héritage de grande force, d’amour, de rires et de gentillesse dont on se souviendra éternellement. Repose en paix, Laurent. Nous t’aimons.
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Laurent Cyr, at the age of 56, on December 31, 2022. Larry was a father, son, brother,
and friend. He was an honest and kind man, a selfless and generous
person, always putting the needs of others before his own, who was
known for his quick wit and positive spirit. No matter what challenges
he faced, Laurent always approached life with an optimistic outlook,
spreading joy and happiness wherever he went. He enjoyed fishing and
going minnow trapping with his brother, Vic.
Laurent will be deeply missed by all who knew him, but his memory will
live on through the countless lives he touched.
He was the proud father of Martin (Miranda Levines), Marc (Kayla
Sabourin) and Mélanie. He is survived by his mother
Gisèle; his siblings: Marie (Denis Leblanc), Victor (Suzanne Drouin),
Thérèse (David Scully), Liz, Michel, and Diana; his grandchildren: Angel-
Rose, Camilo, Alem and Briella-Love; as well as another arriving shortly, Beau-Alain.
Laurent was predeceased by his father Omer; and his siblings: Lorraine and Louis.
The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, June 20, 2023, at 10:30 a.m. at Immaculée-Conception church. The family would greatly appreciate donations to the Kapuskasing Food Bank as expressions of sympathy.
Laurent leaves behind a legacy of great strength, love, laughter, and
kindness that will be forever remembered. Rest in peace, Laurent.
