It is with profound sadness that we announce the
passing of Larry Melville Turner, 70, of
Truro, NS on Sunday, April 30, 2023, with his family by his side, at
the Colchester East Hants Health Care Centre. Born in
Sackville, Larry was a son of the late Douglas Turner and Elizabeth
“Betty” (Hastie, Turner) Crowe..
Larry was a caring and devoted husband, father and
grandfather. He enjoyed assembling model cars and trucks,
and liked to read his bible, have coffee with friends and taking long
drives. He was an avid gardener with a bountiful vegetable
garden each year.
Larry was a member of the militia in his earlier
years. He had started working with Marven’s Bakery and then
with various grocery stores as Produce Manager up to his
retirement.
Larry will be dearly missed by his wife of nearly 21
years, Dianna (formerly Raye), of Truro; one daughter, Ashley (John)
Turner, Truro; two grandchildren, Hannah and Grayson; a son-to-Larry,
Tony White, Amherst, and his Aunts, Ella Ripley and Agnes Read, as
well as several cousins.
Arrangements
are under the care and supervision of Jones Funeral
Home, 70 Bridge Street, Sackville, NB (506-364-1300),
from where a public visitation will be held on Friday, May 5, 2023
from 1 pm until the time of the funeral service at 2 pm.
Interment will follow in the Baie Verte
Cemetery.
Donations in Larry’s memory may be made to the Canadian
Lung Association or the Heart & Stroke Foundation.
