Obituary
Kevin Tashiro, beloved husband of Margarete, passed away in his sleep at St. Michael’s on Friday, September 8, 2023 at the age of 67 years.
Kevin was born in Lethbridge at the St. Michael’s Hospital on February 11, 1957 to Emiko & Masami Tashiro. He graduated from Vauxhall High School and after graduation continued in the Radio Arts for 5 years. Kevin met his wife after a chance phone call for a song request while he was announcing on 1090 chec as a radio DJ. After marrying Margarete, he returned to his family farm in Vauxhall where together they raised their growing family.
Dad bonded with his family by attending his children’s numerous sporting events, took them fishing and enjoyed the quieter moments at home watching America’s Funniest Home Videos. Dad also enjoyed spending time with friends, playing a round or two of golf! Dad was admirable for instilling a great work ethic in each of his five children. Dad’s last few days were spent with his family by his side, he was, and forever will be, deeply loved and missed.
Besides his loving wife, he is survived by his children: Shirley (Bob) Okuma – Blake, Mia; Jason – Jayden, Spencer; Courtney Tashiro (Danny Wilk) – Kinsley; Kaden; and Treyna Tashiro; sisters Deanne Tashiro and Alayne (Leon) Fiedler.
Kevin was predeceased by his parents Emiko & Masami Tashiro.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 3:00 P.M. on Tuesday, September 12, 2023 at Christensen Salmon Generations Funeral Home, 703 13th St. N, Lethbridge, Alberta.
