Peacefully at May Court Hospice. Ken leaves behind his wife Nicole (Tarte), his children Daniel, Christine (Mark) and Roscoe, his stepchildren Martin Barré (Melissa) and Marlène Barré-Sarrazin (Angelo), his grandchildren Christopher, Samantha, Jason and Ruby, and step-grandchildren Nico, Louisa, Maddox and Matéo. Ken was pre-deceased by his parents Eric Nicholls and Verna (Munro), his brother Doug (Pat) and his dog Daphné. He is survived by his brother Andy (Audrey) and will be missed by nieces and nephews, the extended family and close friends who have been invaluable in their support and compassion over the last months.
Ken had a varied career, starting with IBM post-university, then in public service at Industry, Trade and Commerce, Statistics Canada, and Transport Canada, as well as KOM Inc. post-retirement. His greatest joy was enjoying the cottage with family and friends at McGregor Lake in Québec.

Family and friends may gather at the Central Chapel of Hulse, Playfair & McGarry, 315 McLeod Street, Ottawa, on Friday, October 13, at 11:00 am for a brief ceremony followed by a reception.
