Obituary
Karl Adolf Hormann
July 8, 1939 – March 3, 2023
It is with great sadness that our family announces the passing of Karl Hormann at the age of 83 years.
Karl is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Nettie (nee Polachuk); children, Diane Hormann (Tom Felt), Darlene (Kerry) Pezderic, Kevin (Gina) Hormann; six grandchildren, Jennifer Hormann (Brad Sieben), Justin (Carmen) Pezderic, Zackery (Caitlyn) Pezderic, Kade, Nelia and Jayka Hormann; three great-grandchildren, Alyssa and Blake Sieben and Charley Pezderic.
Karl was predeceased by his parents, Marlene and George; and his siblings, Otto, Hazel, Gertie, and Donny.
Karl was raised in the Mannville area. Once he left home he started his career in road construction. He operated heavy equipment which was one of the greatest joys in his career. He worked in oilfield consultation until his retirement at the age of 66. He spent his retirement on the acreage near Gwynne and he loved cutting the lawn and tilling the garden for Nettie. Karl knew every back road in Alberta, loved checking out old vehicles and auctions, and was always up for a competitive game of crib. He will be remembered and missed dearly.
A service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday March 10, 2023 at Baker Funeral Chapel, Wetaskiwin, Alberta, with interment following at Roseland Cemetery, Gwynne.
In lieu of flowers, if you wish, you can donate to the Kidney Foundation of Canada (202-11227 Jasper Avenue, Edmonton, Alberta, T5K 0L8).
