Obituary
Born December 2, 1955 in St. John’s, Newfoundland, passed peacefully at the Saint John Regional Hospital in Saint John, New Brunswick, on Monday, September 4, 2023, after a very short but hard fought struggle with cancer.
Judi was the daughter of the late James and Ethel Richards. She is survived by her husband of 45 years, Bob Thompson; her children Matthew (Karla), Benjamin (Lori), and Misty; her grandsons Cody, Owen, Jaxon, Samuel, Malachi, Noah, and Elias Thompson; her sister Martha Spry, brother Gary Richards, and brother-in-law Jim Thompson; as well as many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sisters Geraldine Botta and Jackie Manning as well as her sister-in-law Muriel Thompson.
Judi was a dedicated mother, treasured by her children, and delighted in her seven grandchildren and grand puppies. She was happiest with a hot (VERY HOT) cup a’ tea and her family around talking, laughing, and cuddling her boys. Those moments were made better for her by autumn leaves or a Christmas tree. Judi waited all year for Christmas and started buying gifts early. She had the house decorated and tree up as soon as she could.
You never left Mom or Nana’s house hungry and usually not without pocket money. She believed that if you could dream it, you could do it. And if you didn’t succeed, try a different way.
Judi was active throughout her life in church and held a deep faith in her personal Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ.
She will be missed greatly by family and friends and loved forever by all. Until we meet again.
Resting at Fundy Funeral Home on Friday, September 8, 2023 from 10am until service time which will be held in the Fundy Funeral Home Chapel beginning at 11am. Interment will follow in Fernhill Cemetery. Donations in her memory may be made to a Living Memorial Fund requested by the family.
