Obituary of Joseph Ovila Parent
A resident of Chatham, Joseph Parent passed away at Meadow Park Chatham on June 20, 2023 at the age of 90.
Born in Stoney Point, Joseph was the son of the late Remi and Ida (née Poirier) Parent.
Beloved husband of Jeanne Parent (née Girard) for 67 years.
Loving father to Yvette Breault (Mike), Robert Parent (Bonnie), Yvonne Beaulieu (Bernard) and Cecile Mailloux (Marc).
Proud grandfather to Wayne, Tim, Alan, Barbara, Tammy, Joseph, Kimberly Vanessa, Jessica, Tommy; great-grandfather to Savanna, Jocelyne, Chantelle, Myah, Richard, Bernard, Joy, Alisson, Jazlene, Teigan, Maliyah, Everly, Joey; great-great grandfather to Peyton, Winter and Colson. Predeceased by his great-grandson Mitchell.
Dear brother to Therese Lemieux, & Jeanne D’arc McLaren (Charles). Predeceased by his brothers Edward, Omer, Arthur, Louis (Mary) and sisters Emily, Elenor, and Agnes.
Joe was a retired employee of the Ford Motor Company where he worked for over 30 years. He will forever be remembered by his family and friends for his love of hunting and the outdoors. He also enjoyed Euchre, board games and doing puzzles.
Family and friends will be received at the Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair Street, Chatham on Friday, June 23, 2023 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and on Saturday, June 24, 2023 at Visitation Parish, 5407 Comber Sideroad, Comber, from 10:00 a.m. until the Mass of the Resurrection at 11:00 a.m. Interment to follow at St. Francis Xavier Cemetery, Tilbury.
Donations made in memory of Joe to the Heart and Stroke Foundation and would be appreciated by the family.
