Obituary of John Michael Sheehan
Passed away suddenly on Sunday, January 8, 2023 at the age of 68. Loving son of June Sheehan (nee Roy), loving father to Cassidy (Cam), and Devin (Sean), grandfather to Mila and Remi, brother to Gail (Dan Ethier), uncle to Kailey and Cameron (Samm). Predeceased by his father John Sr.. John will be missed by many aunts, uncles and cousins. Special thanks to our cousin Jo-Anne for her support during this time.
Ever curious, John was always researching and learning about his Irish and Scottish ancestry. His interests were varied and vast, from photography, music, sports, and wildlife. When it came to photography, John’s favourite subject was his children, always videotaping and photographing their lives. John was an avid cyclist, and enjoyed playing both hockey and tennis is his younger years. John won a flying scholarship through the Air Cadets, earning his pilot’s license at the age of 17. He enjoyed many discussions with longtime friend Bev Arbour. John was a graduate of both Lakeport High School and Brock University.
In keeping with John’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A graveside service will be held at Victoria Lawn Cemetery on Tuesday, January 17, 2023 at 1pm. For those wishing to attend, please meet at the cemetery gates at 12:45pm. In lieu of flowers, donations to Lymphoma Canada would be appreciated.
