It is with heavy hearts that the family of John Alan Walker announce his sudden passing in the comfort of his own home, on Sunday, August 6th, 2023, at the age of 69.
Loving husband of Ann Walker (nee: Williamson) for 29 years. Son of the late Patrick and Marion Walker. Son-in-law of the late Bruce and Lois “Loie” Williamson. Dear brother of Barbara Walker, and brother-in-law of Kathy Eaton (David), Bruce Williamson (Katie), Joan Drinkwater (Dean), and Gayle Williamson. Remembered by his nieces, nephews, other relatives, and special friends. Also remembered by his extended relatives in England.
John was born in Weston and later moved with his family to Etobicoke. He was raised in the Swedenborgain Church and attended the Academy of the New Church High School boarding in the dormitory for grades 11 and 12 – John maintained that they were the best two years of his life.
John purchased his first home in Mississauga at the age of 25 and had it paid for in full in six and a half years. John’s career was of the utmost importance to him; working as a Certified Engineering Technologist (C.E.T.) and Engineering for Atomic Energy of Canada, specializing in instrumentation and control. John also owned a consulting company for a decade. At age 54, John retired to focus on the property he and Ann bought as virgin land in 1996; a Viceroy shell was erected where John did the general contracting to complete the inside. John was property proud; he and Ann often used the phrase “we keep our property in good shape and it does the same for us.”
As a committed traveler, John loved to explore the world, believing that all people were his family. John believed in reincarnation; he is surely on his way to new discoveries!

As was John’s wish, cremation has taken place. A Celebration of John’s Life will be held at home at a later date.
