It is with great sadness that the family of John Marinacci announce his passing on April 25, 2023 at the age of 77, following a long battle with cancer. John was a beloved husband, father, brother, uncle, friend, and mentor to many. John passed away surrounded by his family while feeling the love and support of many friends and extended family. He will be deeply missed by his best friend of more than 70 years and wife of 55 years, Jane (Robinson), and daughters Beth-Ann Marinacci-Green (Kevin), Melissa Fisk (Ewald), Kristin Marinacci (Allen) and grandchildren Zoe, Jay, Liam, Blake, Amon, Ben, Ella, and Isaac. Predeceased by his mother Connie (Loreto) Marinacci and Dominic Marinacci. Little brother to Hector Marinacci (Betty) and Ida Fantinato (Gino – 2022) and brother-in-law to Vivian Gagnon (Gig – 2022) and Ken Robinson (Anita). Uncle to John, Paul, Josette, Dale, Suzanne, David, Vivian, Todd, Brad, Christine, Danielle, and Andrew. Endless list of good friends, colleagues and acquaintances with whom John shared laughs and good times.
John worked as Data Processor, then as Traffic Supervisor for Chrysler Canada. He went back later in life to get his Master’s Degree in Science in Administration. He was a lifelong member of the Knights of Columbus and volunteered for Meals on Wheels, Downtown Mission and Hospice Ticket Booth at the Casino.
John lived his life fully and passionately, enjoying spending time with family and friends. Golf, tennis, wine making, and riding his Harley were some of his favourite pastimes. John and Jane enjoyed traveling alone and with friends. “Life is Good” and “Outstanding” were his go-to expressions. John was a spiritual person who found comfort and peace in his Catholic faith and was a member of the Sacred Heart Parish community in LaSalle.
Thank you to all those that came to visit or who supported John’s family over the course of his battle. Thank you for helping us carry on his memory today and always.
John was a beautiful person – always kind, compassionate and generous to family, friends, and strangers alike. John brightened the lives of all who knew him and will be missed by many.
In lieu of flowers, donations made to Transition to Betterness or Sacred Heart Church Capital Campaign Fundraiser would be appreciated by the family.
Visiting will be held Friday from 2-4 & 6-8 pm with parish prayers at 7 pm at Families First, 2130 Front Rd. Lasalle, 519-969-5841.
Funeral Mass will held on Saturday April 29, 2023 at Sacred Heart Church, 1425 Divine St., Lasalle, at 10 am.
Interment Sacred Heart Church Cemetery in Lasalle.
