Obituary
It is with profound sadness that we, the family of John Manuel House, announce his peaceful passing surrounded by family and friends on Sept 15th, 2023, at the age of 95 years. At the Rufus Guinchard Health Centre.
Left to mourn with fond and loving memories, his wife; Bessie House, Daughters; Lorraine Hutchings (Barry), Ina House (Norm) and Son; Ammon House (June). Grand Children; Lyndon Hutchings (Kelley), Petra Hutchings, Natasha O’Gorman (Mitchell), Jeremy House (Christina), Jenna House (Gregory) and Shane House (Emily). Great Grandchildren; Shantel House (Ryan), Melissa Whiteaway (Blair)Sarah Hutchings, Nicholas Hutchings, Zackery Hutchings (Amy), Braydon Hutchings, Isabella O’Gorman, Noah O’Gorman, Hannah Randell, Tyra Hausler, Shanel Hausler, Jasmin Hausler, Aleah House and 2 Great- Great grandchildren. Brother; Eli House Jr (Norma), Sisters; Elizabeth Payne and Marion Samson (Ralph). Sisters-in-Law; Mercedes House, Rosie House, and Joyce House. As well as many nieces, nephews and friends.
Predeceased by his parents; Eli House, Ellen House (Pearce) and Stepmother, Aggie House (Cunard). Daughter; Doreen House, Brothers; Harvey House, Rendell House, and Roston House, Sisters; Bessie Perry (Donald), Fanny House, and Ena Gould (Albert). Mother and Father-in-law, Gordon, and Evangeline House.
Dad was a quiet, gentle man, someone who loved solitude, he was as strong as a lion yet as gentle as a lamb. To know him was to love him. He will leave a deep void in our hearts but amidst the sorrow there is joy just to have been blessed to have him as part of our family.
A special thank you to the staff at Rufus Guinchard Health Care Center, Port Saunders, NL for the great care you provided in his 2 year stay with you, he loved and appreciated you all so much. To his homecare workers who made it possible for him to come home for the last year before his passing, you went above and beyond expectations, you were his extended family, he loved you dearly.
In lieu of flowers a donation can be made to the charity of one’s choice.
The family will be receiving family and friends at Bethel Pentecostal Tabernacle, Hawke’s Bay, NL on Sunday, Sept 17th, 2023, from 2:00 to 9:00 pm. Where also the Funeral service will be on Monday, Sept 18th, 2023, at 2:00 pm with Pastors Caleb and Sarah March officiating, with the interment to follow at the church cemetery in River of Ponds, NL.
