It is with broken hearts that the family of John Edward Farrugia share the news of his passing. John left us on January 29, 2023 at the age of 53.
Beloved husband and best friend of 22 years to Sharon Wright. Devoted father to Kristina (predeceased) and Kayla. Cherished grandfather to Maxton.
John was the loving son of Anne Baumbach (Brad); Ed Farrugia (Winnie); Brother of Duane (Lori); Dean and Jeremy.
He was the uncle of Ashley, Kyle, Emily, Nick and great uncle to Skylar and Leo. Fondly remembered by many uncles and aunts George, Terri, Joe, Sharon, Charlie, Rose and Vic, as well as extended family Barb (Nick); Jan (Mike); Steve (Patricia); George, Sarah and Adam.
For over 25 years John was a dedicated employee of Hammond Manufacturing. After a long week at work John looked forward to picking up his daughters and heading out to the trailer at Guelph Lake. John enjoyed sitting around the picnic table having a few laughs with his friends from the lake, John, Paul (Shortie) and Lynda to name a few. John would sit around the fire until the wee hours of the morning.
Johns dreams were to drive his 73 olds down the drag strip or taking it to the car shows. Hopefully Maxton will have the same passion as his grampa and zoom down the strip in memory of Papa Blue.
He loved to take Sharon out for ice cream dates in his hemi, cruising down country highways with the windows down, music blaring, and enjoying the ride.
Resting at Gilbert MacIntyre & Son Funeral Home, 252 Dublin Street N, Guelph, ON, where the family invites friends and relatives to join for visitations on Friday February 3rd, 2023 from 7-9pm and Saturday February 4th, 2023 from 11 -12pm. The Funeral Service will follow in the funeral home chapel at 12pm. Reception to follow.
Cremation to take place. Donations can be made to the Heart and Stroke.
