Obituary of John D. Daniel McIsaac, New Waterford
John D. McIsaac, 88 of New Waterford passed away on Saturday, January 7,2023 at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney surrounded by the love of his family.
Born in New Waterford, he was a son of the late Archibald and Christina (Groves) McIsaac.
John was a retired coal miner, and in retirement he could always be found in his yard tinkering with an old car or working on some woodworking project . He was always busy with his hands. He loved a good game of cards and in earlier years shot darts.
He is survived by his children, Ann (Clarence) Slade, Deloris (Sheldon-deceased) MacDonald, John, Wesley (Sandra), Richard (Arlene), Paul, and Ruthie (Richie) Burke; sisters, Frances Martell and Sarah Jane Mahon and several step-siblings. Also surviving are several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by one grandchild, one great-grandchild and several siblings and step-siblings.
Funeral arrangements have been placed in the care of VJ McGillivray Funeral Home, 380 Smith Street, New Waterford, where visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 10th from 10:00 am until Service time at 11:00 am with Fr James Oliver presiding. Burial will follow in Mount Carmel Cemetery.
