Special thanks go out to all the warm caring staff at Glenbrook Lodge, Pleasantview Towers, and Chancellor Park long-term care home(s), as well as the nurses, doctors, and staff at Eastern Health, all of whom demonstrated amazing adaptability and sensitivity while operating under the Covid-19 pandemic.
John was a long-time school administrator at Holy Trinity who was known and respected by thousands of people in Torbay. John truly enjoyed his role as a representative of the extended community and counted numerous friends from Logy Bay to Pouch Cove. The community of Petite Forte will also forever hold a special place for his family and nothing pleased John more than escaping there in the summertime.
An avid sportsman who played competitive ice hockey and softball, John loved dancing, socializing and travelling. For more than four decades he was a member of a monthly card game with special friends the Codners, Sorensens and Molloys. A special thank you is extended to John’s siblings, nieces and nephews whose kindness and support is second to none.
Raised in an era where you grew your own crops, cut your own wood and walked to school, John embodied those traditional values such as fixing your own car when broken, sharpening your own saw, and respecting your neighbour. He will be missed.
