Joan “Memere Joan” Goodin, 76, of Moncton, passed
away on Saturday June 10, 2023 at The Moncton Hospital. Born in
Moncton, she was the daughter of late John and Beatrice (LeBlanc)
Goodin.
Prior to her retirement, Joan was a cashier at RBC. A
wonderful mother, Joan loved playing and listening to country music,
dancing and helping everyone. She loved camping and playing darts. She
especially loved her summers spent at Sandy Beach where she played
Mrs. Claus.
She will be dearly missed by her son, Don Goodin (Debbie) of
Moncton; three grandchildren: Julia (Justin), Jenna, and Jeremy; her
goddaughter, Darlene Gauvin (Raymond) of Moncton; her godson, Gordie
Godin (Lorraine) of Moncton, one brother, Ron Goodin (Gates) of
Welland, ON; the father of her son, Eddie “Woody” Woodard of
Osbourne Corner; as well as her nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her special aunt,
Imelda LeBlanc (Omer Lirette); one sister, Cheryl; and two brothers:
Donald and Laurie.
The family will receive condolences at Frenette Funeral and
Cremation Centre, 88 Church Street, Moncton (506-858-1900) where the
funeral service will be celebrated on Wednesday June 14 from 11 am.
Visiting hours are Wednesday from 10 am until time of funeral.
Interment will be at Our Lady of Calvary cemetery in Dieppe. In memory
of Joan, a contribution to a charity of the donor’s choice
would be appreciated.
