Mrs. Joan Marie Mckitterick (nee Osborne) of Thamesville died Tuesday, April 11, 2023.
Joan was born April 3, 1929, in Halifax, Nova Scotia to Edgar Osborne and Margaret Walsh. She had five siblings, Sonny, Patricia, Lorraine, Rita, and Judith.
Joan will be missed by her children, Doug (Brenda) and Bob. Beloved grandmother to Trisha, Darryl, Elyse (Nick), and Sarah. Great grandmother to four great-grandsons, Tyler, Parker, Reese, and Fox. She was predeceased by her daughter Peggy, and grandsons Jeffrey and Jesse.
Joan is predeceased by her husband and friend, Bill. Bill and Joan got married and moved from Ontario to Alberta. There, Bill set up his grass seed business. Joan would help, doing the office work and maintaining their home. They retired and purchased a home in Thamesville, and they loved it. They bought a beautiful trailer and traveled together, making friends from coast to coast.
Joan will be sadly missed by friends and family. Over the years, we had many family get-togethers. Joan loved her family, and we always had plenty to talk about. She touched many lives and was always willing to give a helping hand. She was a regular attendee at mass and loved walking with her dog Teddy.
Special thanks to Joan’s close neighbours and friends who helped sacrificially and encouraged her, and also the Alzheimer’s Society day programmes, Chaps, PSW’s (who made staying home possible), EMS, and more. Everyone was amazing, thank you again!
Donations in Joan’s honour can be made to the Alzheimer’s Society.
