Obituary of Jo-Anne Theresa Logue (Lavoie)
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of a deeply loved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. Jo-Anne Logue of Fredericton, N.B., passed away on December 30th, 2022, at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital with her daughters by her side.
Jo-Anne was born on May 26th, 1956, in Cobourg, ON, to the late Joseph and Christine Lavoie (Pickard). In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her brother, Tom (Tommy) Lavoie.
She will be greatly missed by her daughters, Monica Doyle (Troy), Maureen Logue (Donny); sister, Marlene Winch; brother, Joseph Lavoie; her beautiful granddaughters, Capri, Molly and Elly; several nieces and nephews; her cat, Panda and grand fur babies, Skye, Tiger, Jasper, Teddy and Coco.
Jo-Anne was so very proud of her daughters and granddaughters—they were her world, as she was theirs. She loved her family beyond words and always put them first. To her many friends and nursing colleagues: Know that she loved you all very much, cherished your friendship and appreciated your kindness and support. Jo-Anne was known for her wonderful sense of humor and tireless energy. She will especially be remembered for her kind heart, her ability to make people laugh and her passion for life that touched everyone she met.
Jo-Anne had a long and fulfilling career as a Licensed Practical Nurse. Throughout her years, she worked at York Manor, the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital in Psychiatry and at the Victoria Health Center in Addictions and Mental Health Services. She was an exceptional nurse who loved to work and was always taking extra shifts. Jo-Anne was adored by her work family, and she always went above and beyond for her patients.
When Jo-Anne was not at work, she could be found at her lil’ piece of heaven at Whites Cove, Grand Lake. Watching the breathtaking sunsets, listening to the sounds of the waves, waiting for the loons to call, and reading a good book were her favorite pastimes. She also loved country music and dancing. Jo-Anne enjoyed sharing her beautiful home with family and friends. Gammie’s Lake is a very special place that will remain for generations to come.
To the healthcare team at the DECH 4NW who provided such great care and showed kindness and compassion during her stay, thank you. A special thank you to Dr. Natalie Wallace and nurses Kelsey, Katie, Shari and Apolline (Apple). You are all amazing and will never be forgotten.
The Funeral Mass will be celebrated by Father Bill Brennan and will take place at the Holy Family Catholic Parish Church, 1500 Hanwell Road, Fredericton, N.B on Thursday, January 5th, 2023 at 11:00 AM with a reception to follow in the Church Hall. For those who wish to honor Jo-Anne’s memory a donation can be made to the Canadian Red Cross or a charity of the donor’s choice. Personal condolences may be offered through www.yorkfh.com.
