Obituary of Jimmy Beattie
It is with heavy hearts the family announces the passing of James W. Beattie on Tuesday, December 20th 2022 in his home with family by his side in his 89th year. Beloved husband of the late Margaret Beattie (nee Urquhart); cherished father to: Jim (Cheryl) Beattie, Carol (Wayne) Beattie-Metz and Calum (Launa) Beattie; grandfather to: Kyle (Ashley McNabb) Beattie, Campbell (Jeff Kaczmarek) Beattie, Tyler Metz, Clarissa (Paul Chakhov) Metz and Desmond (Marina Tirabassi) Metz; great-grandfather to Scottie Beattie; brother to Don and his predeceased sister Maureen. Jimmy was an avid player of the bagpipes and was awarded for his many years of teaching them. He was also a member of the Braemar Pipe Band of St. Catharines as well as a Founder of the St. Catharines Soccer Club. After a long career at General Motors, Jimmy found pleasure in spending time with his family and his precious dogs, Tiree and Coll. In keeping with his wishes, funeral arrangements have been entrusted to GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL HOME, 585 Carlton St., St. Catharines. The family will have a private funeral service and a separate Celebration of Life for Jimmy at a later date. As per his love of animals, please consider donating in honour of Jimmy to the local Lincoln County Humane Society.
