BROWN, Jesse
It is with immense sadness and broken hearts that the family of Jesse Brown share the devastating news of his passing at the age of 31. Jesse was such a kind and gentle man who loved everyone and all that knew him loved him back. Jesse’s best friend his whole life was his little brother Cole. They shared a home and many fun and exciting adventures together. He had a deep love and tender heart for his mom, dad, brother and his dog Opus. Jesse’s passions were hanging out with his brother, family and his many friends, music, fishing, hunting, creating culinary magic and nature. Jesse loved being outdoors, hiking out west and out east in the Coulees and canoeing the Battle and Red Deer Rivers. Being in nature made his soul happy and free. Hiking into backcountry- camping, hiking into a spot and sleeping in his hammock under the stars was his euphoria on earth.
Jesse loved sitting around the campfire anywhere anytime and shooting the breeze with his friends and family and sometimes serenading them with a song. He had an immense love of reading and was versed in many subjects.
The moment Jesse got his first fishing rod he was hooked. He was an avid all weather fisherman his entire life with many a weekend spent on the ice or in his float tube fishing with Cole and his many buddies.
Throughout his life Jesse participated in many sports, hockey, lacrosse, soft ball, soccer, curling, fencing, and swimming.
Jesse was a musician, he got his first guitar at age 2 and played and sang his entire life. During his life he played the Baritone sax, piano, various guitars, harmonica, the harpery and most recently he was writing music for and teaching himself the banjo. In High School he had a rock band with his mates. After High School they formed a New Wave Heavy Metal Band of which Jesse was the lead vocalist and perfected that scream- growl vocal technique. Recently Jesse was writing folk and alternative music with the banjo and singing with his deep melodical voice. Jamming with his friends was another highlight of his life.
Jesse went to Olds College and became a butcher by trade and worked his whole career in Red Deer. He loved butchering with his cousins preparing the meat they raised on the farm or hunted together. Jesse was always coming up with cool meat and food creations and using unique spice combinations to enhance those creations. His 2 Instagram accounts are full of the most amazing culinary dishes he created. At the time of his passing he was planning to start his own custom meat cutting business.
Jesse also took his EMR course and passed with a near perfect score, he worked as an EMR in the oil industry for a short while.
Jesse always would say “ I work to live, I don’t live to work” something we should all live by.
From birth Jesse’s best friends were his brother Cole and cousins Clint and Blair, many an hour these 4 spent mischief making, hunting and fishing.
Jesse was predeceased by his grandparents Skip and Betty Roadhouse, Jean and Clifford Brown and his Uncle Terry Brown.
Jesse is survived by his brother Cole, his mom and dad Neal and Tammy, his dog Opus, numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Jesse’s laugh and his smile were infectious and he gave the very best hugs. He loved with his whole heart!
Jesse will be deeply missed and always remembered, think of Jesse when you cast a line, sing along to a tune, smell something delicious or are sitting in nature or floating in a lake or river. He will be there with you.
Jesse’s life will be celebrated at a future date when the warm breezes blow.
Jesse will be loved and close to our hearts for eternity, Love Mom, Dad and Cole
