Obituary of Jean Ashley
ASHLEY, Margaret Jean (nee Huxtable)
Surrounded by the love of her children, the family announces the passing of Margaret “Jean” Ashley at Kingston General Hospital, on Thursday, March 23, 2023, at the age of 96.
Predeceased by her beloved husband Kenneth Murray Ashley.
Loving mother to Linda Ball (Steven), Rhonda Lake (Ted), Barry Ashley (Jennifer Dalgarno), Brenda Fabbro (Andrew). Loving and devoted Nana to Danny Ball (Melanie), Shelly Trainor (Brian), Jessica Smith (Zack), Jay Fabbro (Claire), Sara Ashley, Ashley Sams (Justin) and Erin Ashley. Loving and devoted GG to Raechel and Caitlin Ball; Kaeden, Lincoln, Mackian Trainor; Landon, Romy Smith; Chace Baxter, Cameron Fabbro; and Drew Sams. Lovingly remembered by nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.
Jean’s greatest love was her family. She was the matriarch of our family, always showing kindness and love to everyone. She will always be remembered for her generosity, thoughtfulness and respect for others. Jean was always complimented for her flair in fashion and always wanted to look her best. She enjoyed being an active member of the UCW at Edith Rankin United Church.
The family will receive friends at the James Reid Funeral Home, 1900 John Counter Blvd. Kingston, Ontario. Visitation will take place on Thursday, March 30, 2023 from 6:00 – 8:00 pm and again on Friday, March 31, 2023 from 10:00 – 10:50 am. A Funeral Service will be held in the James Reid Funeral Chapel at 11:00 am on Friday, March 31, 2023, with a reception to follow the service. Interment will take place at Wilton Cemetery.
As an expression of sympathy, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation in Jean’s memory.
