It is with deep sadness the family of Jean Isabel Sims (nee Smith) announce her passing on April 18, 2023, at Joseph Brant Hospital at the young age of 97.
Predeceased by her dear husband Win (2017).
Loving mom to Debbie, Mike and Karen.
Best “Baa” to Matthew (Jess), Adam (Rebecca), Jessica (Nathan) and Michael (Kendall).
Big Sister to Bill Smith (Lorna) and Helen Harman (Ron).
Sister-in-law to Don Kirby and Shirley Smith.
Reunited with siblings Don and Kitty Smith, Gord Smith, Margaret Kirby and Mary Smith.
She will be lovingly remembered by her cousins, nieces, nephews, honourary family member Cathy Thomas and will be missed by her friends at Pearl and Pine, Halls Lake, TOPS and church.
Mom was proud of her Burlington Heritage and would be happy to talk for hours about her hometown.
She was the Matriarch of the family who loved get-togethers, whether in a small group or a party of 100.
A beautiful life has come to an end. She died as she lived: Everyone’s friend. In our hearts, a memory will always be kept of the one we have loved, and will never forget.
Interment will be at Greenwood Cemetery at a later date.
Mom – We all wish heaven had a phone so we could hear your voice again.
If desired, in lieu of flowers, memorial donations to Knox Presbyterian Church would be sincerely appreciated by the family.
