Passed away peacefully at the Niagara General Hospital on Sunday, January 1, 2023 in her 99th year. Predeceased by her beloved husband Redvers (Red) (1999). Loving mother of Robert (Marju) Doug (Antoinette), Jane Smith. Cherished grandmother of David Smith (Nola), Amy Smith, Steven Smith (Allyson), Andrea Massey (Bruce), Jennifer Bandi, Heather McClelland (Frank), Rebecca Heitman (Clarke), Christian Bunyan.
Great grandmother of 14 and great-great grandmother of 1.
Dear sister of Mary Sipos, and predeceased by her sisters Rose, Victoria and Shirley Ann
Forever missed by her many nieces and nephews.
Jean worked along side her husband Redvers (Red) at Economy Electric in Welland for over 40 years. She was an exceptional painter. Her oil paintings will be for ever cherished by her children and passed down to her grand children. Her children could not have had a better mother, teacher and mentor and Jean will by forever loved and missed.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to all the staff at Rapelje Nursing Home for the care and compassion our mother received while in their care. Thank you also to the palliative team at the Great Niagara General Hospital for their outstanding care and support.
In keeping with Jean’s wishes cremation has taken place and the family will announce a Celebration of Life in the spring.
