Passed away on January 2, 2023 at her home in Lewisporte, NL, Janet (Jan) Sargent age 78 years.
She was born to Joseph and Rachel Vokey of Spaniard’s Bay, NL.
Predeceased by her parents; husband, Jerry Sargent; brother Bob Vokey.
Leaving to mourn her sons, Philip (Viviana), Chris (Lorna); grandchildren, Paige, Tegan, and Nathan; brothers, Graham (Frances), Howard (Lois); sister-in-law Joyce; in-laws, Linda (Bernard Moyles) and Gary (Winnie) Sargent, as well as a large circle of relatives and friends.
Janet came to Lewisporte in 1964 as a teacher. It was there she met Jerry Sargent and married in 1969. Together they raised two sons (Phil and Chris). In later years she worked at CO-OP for 21 years until her retirement.
Public visitation will take place from Gordon Woolfrey Funeral Home, 262 Main St, Lewisporte, NL on Thursday, January 5,2023 from 2-4 PM and 7-9PM.
The funeral service will take place from St. Matthews United Church, Lewisporte, NL on Friday, January 6,2023 at 2PM. Interment will follow from the St. Matthews United Cemetery, Lewisporte, NL.
As expression of sympathy donations in her memory may be made to the Cancer Society or St. Matthews Cemetery Fund.
Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Gordon Woolfrey Funeral Home, 262 Main Street, Lewisporte, NL.
