Obituary
Eugene “Jamie” W. Colpitts, 91, of Moncton, passed away peacefully at The Moncton Hospital on Friday, January 20, 2023 following a brief illness. Born in Salisbury, he was the son of the late Walton and Clara (Rogers) Colpitts.
Jamie loved music, he played jazz music most of his adult life and made a career out of it. He enjoyed repairing instruments, and always was willing to lend a hand to any of his fellow musicians when they needed help. He retired from UAP now NAPA Auto Parts. Jamie was an active member of St. John’s United Church and was a dedicated choir member for many years. He was also very active in the Moncton Probus Club.
Jamie will be sadly missed by his children, Kristy Leger (Victor) and Kraig Colpitts (Trudy); grandchildren, Trevor Leger (Heather), Darryl Leger, Matthew Leger, Heather Colpitts (Jarett) and Candace Colpitts; 5 great grandchildren; as well as nieces, nephews and extended family members. Jamie was the last surviving member of his immediate family.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Edris Colpitts; son, Keir; and his siblings, Iva, Eva, Greta, Dora, Gordon, Louis and William.
A Celebration of Jamie’s life will be held at a later date. Interment will take place at Fair Haven Memorial Gardens.
