James’ Obituary
Surette, James – Age 87 of Yarmouth (Formerly of Gavel Road), passed away on August 27, 2023 in the Meadows, Yarmouth. Born in Comeau’s Hill on April 6, 1936, he was a son of the late Freddie and Annie (Newell) Surette.
James was a skilled carpenter. He also worked at the Ice Plant in Milton. He was an avid hunter and had a great sense of humor.
James is survived by his children, Roseanne (James) Ogdon, Yarmouth; Stan Surette and Michael Surette, both of Yarmouth Co.; James (Marie) Surette, Belleville; Harold Surette, Little Egypt; several grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife, Helen (Gordon) Surette; several siblings.
Funeral arrangements are under the care and direction of Huskilson’s Funeral Home, Yarmouth. A visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday, September 5, 2023 with prayers at 7 p.m. in Huskilson’s Funeral Home, Yarmouth. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, September 6, 2023 in Huskilson’s Memorial Chapel, Yarmouth, Father Henry Smolenaars officiating. A burial will be held in Comeau’s Hill following the service. Donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada.
