Bathurst – It is with profound sadness that the family of James “Jimmy” Chiasson, of Dunlop and formerly of Bathurst, announce his passing which occurred on Thursday July 27, 2023, at the Chaleur Regional Hospital, Bathurst, at the age of 76.
Born in Bathurst, he was the son of the late Edmond and Phoebe (Mallet) Chiasson.
He is survived by his children: Denis Chiasson (Diane) of Dunlop and Cynthia Williamson (Kelvin) of Rothesay.
Three grandchildren: Bailey (Brittany), Shannon, Naome (Pascal) and three great-grandchildren: Benson, Braden and Louis.
Three brothers: Gilbert (Debbie), Cletus (Betty), Jarvis (Cathy) all of Bathurst and five sisters: Isabelle (late Gerald Roy), Yvette (late Roger Hachey) and Sylvia (Camille Daigle) all of Bathurst, Theresa (Edwin Sealy) of Woodstock, NB, Eva (late Mario Dugas) of Dieppe, NB.
Several nieces and nephews.
Beside his parents, he is predeceased by his brothers: Aurele, Stanley, Telesphore, Albany, Billy, Laurier “Red”, Jack, Robert his sisters: Amy Frigault and Adele Daigle.
Jimmy was the owner operator of “Jim Janitor Services”. He was an active member of the community and loved sports.
The family will receive relatives and friends at Elhatton’s Funeral Home (www.elhatton.com), Bathurst, on Wednesday August 2nd , 2023, from 12 noon until time of funeral which will be celebrated at 2 p.m. from the Sacred Heart Cathedral, Bathurst.
Donations in memory of James may be to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or a charity of the donor’s choice.
