Always the entertainer, Jim Thomas of Kincardine, has exited stage left on his final production! The curtain came down on New Years Eve 2022 at the Kincardine Hospital surrounded by his loved ones.
Jim will be missed by his darling wife Edna Thomas (née Wright) who after 10 days of knowing him, accepted his marriage proposal and stayed married to him for 57 years. Together they had four children: Stephen Thomas of Peterborough, Elizabeth Turner (Robert Turner) of Kincardine, Lorraine Thomas (Peter Wiederhold) of London and Michelle Thomas of Kincardine.
Survived by his sister Patricia O’Donnell, he will be reuniting with his mother and father: Cecilia (née McGuire) and George Thomas, who no doubt will already be planning an evening of Party Pieces with George on the piano and Jim reciting some of his favourite stories and poems.
Jim enjoyed spending time with all of his family and loved seeing his grandchildren: Andrew Thomas, Melissa Thomas (Nic Bidgood), Anna Wiederhold, Rebecca Wiederhold, Hanna Beaune, and James Beaune and he was over the moon when his great-granddaughter Georgia Bidgood was born in February of 2022.
Jim, who may have been small in height, was larger than life in personality. He entertained many over the years as a member of the Kincardine Theatre Guild and the Community singers. He will be missed not only by all of his extended family but also by many friends.
Cremation has taken place and Jim has requested no service, so there will be no encore.
If you would like to honour Jim, please consider a donation to the Kincardine & Community Healthcare Foundation or the Canadian Alzheimer’s Society.
