Passed peacefully with family at his side on New Year’s Day at St. Joseph’s Healthcare Hamilton, after a rapid decline in his health. Beloved husband of Lynn (née Harper) for 37 years. Cherished father to Rachel and Stephanie (Ryan), and adored “Jamie Baps” to grandchildren Fran, Mavis, Charlie, and Max. Predeceased by his parents Margaret and Vincent, niece Tracey, and great-nephew Cameron. Dear youngest brother to Lynn (Bob), Jan (Gary), and Bob (Jane), and brother-in-law to Don (Kathy) and Paul (Nancy). Lifelong friend of the Russell family and dear friend of the Brown family. Jamie will be deeply missed by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Jamie had an incredibly kind, gentle heart, and lived a life devoted to his family and their many pets. A heartfelt thank you to the wonderful PSWs who provided care to Jamie for the last year and a half and helped him to stay at home, where he wanted to be, for as long as he could. Additional special thanks to the PSWs, nursing staff, and medical team at St. Joseph’s Healthcare Hamilton who cared for him in his final days. Visitation will be held on Sunday, January 8, 2023 from 1 p.m. – 3 p.m. with a Celebration of Life Service at 3 p.m. at Circle of Life Cremation and Burial Centre, 100 King St East, Dundas, ON (additional parking at the Air Force Club). In lieu of flowers, donations to the Hamilton/Burlington SPCA or a charity of your choosing would be appreciated.
