Obituary
Peacefully at Joseph Brant Hospital, Burlington on Saturday, June 24, 2023, Jim passed away at the age of 85 years.
Beloved father of Shawna (Charlie), Chris (Gord), Kim (Joe) and Caleen. Dear grandfather of Timothy, Josh, Victoria, Haley, Jeremy (Ashley), Nick (Madelaine), Becca (Dillon) and Austin and great-grandfather to Damian, Elijah, Ailynn, Karson, Colton, Zander, Willow, Kenneth, Benjamin, Kowynn, Sophia and Sienna.
Sadly missed by his sisters Kathy (George), Anne (Roger), Clara (Nick) and extended family and friends.
Predeceased by his father Malcolm, mother Nina, brothers Maurice and John and sisters Betty, Maxine, Mary and Carolyn.
Jim lived a long and happy life, working at Birmingham and then running his water business “MacCannell’s Water Haulage” for over 40 years. Jim was a proud man growing up on Manitoulin Island and raising his family in Markdale and Dundas. Jim will be remembered as a hardworking man ready to help anyone in need and as one who loved his family dearly.
Special thanks to the staff at Joseph Brant Hospital for their care of Jim over the last month and his home care PSWs.
Cremation has taken place with a private family service. In remembrance of Jim’s life, the family asks that any charitable donations be made to a charity of your choice.
