Obituary of Jack Andrew Smith
With heavy hearts, the family of Jack Andrew Smith announces his passing which occurred on May 14, 2023 at Kiwanis Nursing Home. Born in Sus on July 5, 1939, Jack was the son of the late Maxwell and Edith (Floyd) Smith.
He is survived by son Kirk of Sus, NB; daughter Nancy Smith (Ralph Steele) of Sus Corner, NB; granddaughter Erica Keating; grandson Josh Fanjoy; great-grandson Oliver Keating; nephew Jim (Nicole) Smith and aunt Margaret Drury. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his loving wife Carol, who passed away in September 2005, his brother Dave, his nephew Jeff Smith, his sister-in-law Faye Smith and special friend Ruth Allen.
Jack worked for Irving Oil for 36 years in management and sales. He was a past president of Sus Jaycees, Sus & District Chamber of Commerce and a member of the Sus Town Council from 1972-1983. He and his wife Carol enjoyed their motor home trips and winters in Florida where they made lifelong friends.
He was an avid golfer and enjoyed gardening and working with his brother Dave on their wood and blueberry lots in past years. He was a member of St. Paul’s United Church.
The family would like to thank the Kiwanis Nursing home for their excellent and loving care of Jack.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Wallace Funeral Home, 34 Sunnyside Dr., Sus, NB (506) 433-1176. A Funeral Service celebrating Jack’s life will be held on Thursday, May 18, 2023 at 2:30PM from Wallace Community Chapel.
