Obituary
Istvan Palfi, known affectionately as “Pista Pista”, “Pityu”, “Pisti”, “Steve”, “Apa” passed away on September 9th 2023. He was born on August 10, 1967 in Bajmok Serbia and peacefully departed in his family home in Rockwood , Ontario.
Istvan is survived by his beloved wife, Bernadett Palfi, and their two cherished children, Lidia and Jennifer Palfi, along with their spouses, Sean and Mathew. He is also survived by his father, Istvan Palfi, his brother, Marinko Palfi and his family. Istvan leaves behind a close-knit extended family, including his cousin Magdalena and her husband Jozsef, their children Tomi, Marianne and their families: Romi, Dezso and Flora, as well as the Kalapos family.
Istvan dedicated many years of his life to his work at Intelvac, a place he considered his second home. He found joy in his work and forged lasting friendships with his colleges.
Outside of work, Istvan’s interests were as diverse as his nicknames. He had a passion for biking, relishing in the freedom of the open road, and electric vehicles. He was a hunter, cherished the tranquility of spending time outdoors. Istvan had a talent for working with his hands, creating and fixing things with a skill that was admired by all that knew him.
Above all, Istvan valued spending quality time with his wife and family and dear friends. His smile was contagious, his laughter filled the room with warmth and happiness. He was a source of joy to all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Visitation to celebrate Istvan’s life will be held on September 13 from 6-9PM at Jones Funeral Home in Georgetown. A funeral service to honor his memory will take place on September 14th at 11AM at the same location.
Istvan Palfi will be deeply missed but will live on in our hearts and cherished memories of his family and friends.
