Trois-Ruisseaux, NB – It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Ronald Gallant, 77, a talented artist with a free spirit, on Saturday July 1st, 2023 at the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont University Hospital Centre in Moncton.
Born in Campbellton, he was the son of the late Benoit and the late Edith Gallant (Gionet).
Roney will be sadly missed by his sisters Denise (Laurie) Melanson of Shemogue, Claudine Gallant (Guy Bouchard) of Rawdon, QC, Suzanne Gallant (Leonard Melanson), Ginette Gallant (Albert Guerette) and Florine (Valmond) Goguen all of Cap-Pelé, Anita (Henri) Saulnier of Laval, QC and Vayna (Janot) Gonthier of Montreal, QC as well as several cousins, nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his brothers Jean-Paul, Fernand, and Armand; as well as his sister, Albertine Dupuis.
Roney was known for his abstract paintings, which were a reflection of his inner world and a testament to his unique perspective. With bold brushstrokes and colorful palettes, he created captivating works of art that allowed viewers to explore their own interpretations and emotions.
In addition to his paintings, Roney had a talent for crafting handmade jewelry. His intricate designs and attention to detail produced beautiful pieces that became treasured keepsakes for his loved ones.
Roney’s love for fishing brought him immense joy. He could often be seen heading to the wharf on his scooter, loaded with fishing gear, ready to cast his line and immerse himself in the peacefulness of the water.
Roney lived a life filled with freedom and simplicity as he fearlessly pursued his passions, embracing a free-spirited existence that resonated with all who knew him.
As we say goodbye, let us remember the vibrant colors he brought into our lives and honor his memory by living with the same boundless spirit that defined his life.
Roney’s niece Edith, held a special place in his heart. It was his heartfelt wish to have her by his side during his final moments. Her unwavering support and love provided him comfort as he embarked on his eternal journey.
Roney will be deeply missed by his family, friends and all who had the pleasure of knowing him. His memory will forever be etched in our hearts and his artistic legacy will continue to inspire those who truly appreciate the beauty of self-expression.
In respect to the family’s wishes, there will be no visitation and no funeral service.
