Hilda Myrtle Emerson, 80, passed away suddenly on Friday,
February 17th. She is the daughter of the late Samuel and Pearl Emerson. Hilda is survived by her husband, Bob Malott, her sons Doug (Rena), Randy and Dennis (Theresa) Beirnes, her grandchildren Cass (Jacobe) and Emily Beirnes, Jacob, Jack, MacKenzie, Max, Grayson and Waylon Beirnes-Daniels and her brother Goldwyn Emerson. She was predeceased by her brothers Raymond and Glen Emerson.
Hilda worked for many years for Community Living where she had a passion for advocating for the rights of her clients. She loved crafts, sewing and painting. Hilda was a long time member of Avondale (formerly Central) United Church where she was very active in church activities and volunteered as a Beaver Leader.
Hilda loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She enjoyed travelling and new adventures. Hilda was very proud of achieving diplomas in Carpentry and Social Work.
The family invites all to come and celebrate Hilda’s life on a date to yet be determined at Avondale United Church, 194 Avondale Avenue, Reverend Keith Reynolds officiating.
