It is with deep sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our mother on Saturday, December 31, 2022. Daughter of the late Sonia Bernhardt. Cherished mom of Lindsey (Matt) Top and Brittany (Chad) Schmeler. Treasured ‘Della’ to her grandchildren Rilynn, Cooper, Presley, Nash and Walker. Dear brother of Kip (Faye) Bernhardt. Heather will always be remembered by her Aunts, Uncles, many cousins, nieces and nephews. She was well respected in the educational community. She will be greatly missed by her many teachers, colleagues and her students. Heather was passionate about her career and creating a path for Indigenous students to further their education. Her support was endless. Family and friends are invited to M.J. Smith & Son Funeral Home on Thursday, January 5, 2023 between the hours of 2:00 – 4:00 & 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Funeral Service will be held on Friday, January 6, 2023 at 10:30a.m. in the funeral home.
